New Zealand Breakers star guard Cedric Jackson saved his best for the biggest game of the season to date, taking out the National Basketball League Player of the Week for Round 17 of the iiNet NBL Championship.
The stage for Jackson was the highly-anticipated Breakers’ home clash with the Perth Wildcats and the 26-year-old didn’t disappoint, leading the defending NBL Champions to a 98-81 victory.
Jackson was at his electrifying best, finishing the night with 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, 8 assists, 5 assists and 5 steals in one of his most complete games of the season.
This is the fourth time Jackson has claimed the NBL Player of the Week award for the 2012/13 iiNet NBL Championship, receiving the honour in Rounds 6, 9 and 11.
In-form Adelaide 36ers big man Daniel Johnson had another impressive night (21 points on 7-of-13FG and seven rebounds) in the home loss to Wollongong, while Jonny Flynn wowed Melbourne fans again (21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists) in the 67-64 win over Cairns.
Tigers’ teammate Seth Scott and Taipans’ Jamar Wilson were also among the standout players of Round 17.
