New Zealand Breakers sharp-shooting guard Daryl Corletto has taken out the National Basketball League Player of the Week for Round 16 of the iiNet NBL Championship.
It was a shooting exhibition from Corletto in the 95-76 win over the Sydney Kings on Thursday night, with the 31-year-old lighting it up from beyond the arc.
The veteran of more than 300 NBL games hit 6-of-8 three-pointers and 8-of-11 from the field on his way to 22 points as the Breakers improved their home record to 8-1.
Corletto added 11 points in the 91-74 road win over Wollongong, taking New Zealand to 17-3 on top of the NBL ladder.
Kings’ big man Ian Crosswhite continued his impressive form of late, adding 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting and 10 rebounds in the loss to New Zealand, with teammate Ben Madgen adding 20 points (8-of-14).
Adris ‘2Hard 2Guard’ Deleon had 24 points and four steals in the Hawks loss to the Breakers, while Jason Cadee (24 points on 9-of-15FG) and Daniel Johnson (25 points & 10 rebounds) led from the front in Adelaide’s loss to Melbourne.
Tigers’ duo Seth Scott and Jonny Flynn, Cairns star Cam Tragardh and NZ high-flyer Thomas Abercrombie were also in the mix.
