Perth

-        The Round 17 loss to New Zealand saw the Wildcats allow 98 points, well above their season mark of 69 per game.

-        Since returning from injury Matthew Knight is averaging 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds in six games.

-        The Wildcats held Wollongong to just 44 shots in the Round 17 home win.

Adelaide

-        The 36ers slipped to their 8th home loss of the season against Wollongong in Round 17, with an average margin of 9.1 points.

-        Free Throw shooting struggles have plagued Adelaide this season, converting 274 of 402 attempts at a league-worst 68.2%.

-        Daniel Johnson has been at his offensive best over the past four games, averaging 19.75 at 42.9% shooting.

Key Stat

The battle of boards will go a long way to deciding the final result, with Perth (38.2 rebounds per game) leading the NBL and Adelaide close behind in third (36.3).

Wollongong

-        New import Malcolm Grant scored a game-high 21 points in the road win over Adelaide in Round 17, with his three-point shooting a highlight (4-of-5).

-        The Hawks had 18 turnovers in the loss to Perth, well above their season average of 11.9 per game – the lowest in the NBL.

-        Wollongong are winless at the WIN Entertainment Centre in their past four games at an average margin of 10 points.

Melbourne

-        Tigers’ guard Chris Goulding has struggled from the field since the turn of the year, averaging 36.2% shooting on 25-of-69 attempts.

-        Melbourne play three of their next four games on away from the State Netball Hockey Centre.

-        The Tigers have won three of their past four games by an average margin of just 4.3 points.

Key Stat

Melbourne inflicted Wollongong’s first home defeat of the season, defeating the then third-placed Hawks.

Townsville

-        The Crocs have struggled from beyond the arc against Cairns this season, hitting 11-of-41 attempts at 26.8%.

-        Townsville has averaged 9.5 turnovers against the Taipans – down from the season mark of 12.5 per game.

-        Despite averaging a league-low 30.7 rebounds per game, the Crocs have the league-leading board-crasher in Jacob Holmes at 8.3 per game.

Cairns

-        The Taipans shot 47% from the field in the two wins over Townsville this season – above their season average of 42%.

-        Jamar Wilson has been hot from the field in the past three games, shooting the ball at a remarkable 57.9% - well above his season percentage of 44.3%.

-        Cairns have won just one of their past five games on the road.

Key Stat

Scoring has been a problem area for these two teams throughout the season, with the Crocs averaging 74.1 points per game (#3 lowest in NBL) and the Taipans 73.5 (#2 lowest in NBL).

Sydney

-        Sydney has struggled since the turn of the year, winning just one of the past six games, including dropping their last five games.

-        The Kings did inflict the Breakers last NBL loss, back in Round 10 thanks to a 29-point exhibition from by Corin Henry in the 75-62 win.

-        Three-point shooting isn’t a major part of the Kings offense, shooting a league-low 15.3 per game – compared with 20.8 by the Breakers.

New Zealand

-        The Breakers are on a 10-game winning streak, the longest streak (win or loss) this season.

-        New Zealand have just two players averaging over 10 points per game despite leading the league in scoring at 79.7 points per game.

-        The Breakers lead the NBL in offensive rebounds with 300 at 14.3 per game, with Alex Pledger (65 - #1 in NBL), Will Hudson (55 - #3) and Mika Vukona (47 - #6) leading the charge.

Key Stat

The road holds no fear for the Breakers, who have won their past six away games by an average of 8.5 points.

-        Adelaide hasn’t been a place to fear for the Tigers in the NBL era, winning nearly half (18 of 40) the games played on the road against the 36ers.

-        In their past two wins over the 36ers, rebounding has been a hallmark for the Tigers, out-crashing their opponents 83-64.

-        Seth Scott has enjoyed playing against Adelaide, averaging 19.3 points per game in the three games against the old foes this season.
