The Elite Development programme is the introduction to the Elite pathway. In 2011 it is for players born in 1999 and younger. (Players born in 1998 who can't attend the Monday Workout sessions can also join this programme).

Trainings are held on Tuesdays from 5.15-6.30pm each school term at the Breakers training venue, 7 Atlas Place, Mairangi Bay.

The focus of the Development training sessions are to introduce and develop the basic fundamentals of basketball to give the players a strong grounding and base to build on as they progress through the Elite pathway.

To remain in the programme it is important to continually work hard and show improvement. This is a selected programme so it is important if selected to treat your spot with great pride and respect.

Selections:

Players can gain entry into the programme via:

• Trials which may be held prior
• Selection from nomination (Nominations must come from a creditable Rep or school coach or local association)
• Talent identification from Breakers coaches.

NB: Breakers Coaches have the right to move a younger player in a higher age group if they believe this will extend and benefit the player)
