28 year old Wilkinson is a late bloomer, after dropping out of High School and heading down the wrong side of the tracks, Wilkinson got himself together and attended College where he enjoyed a stellar career with Utah State University. Since the 6’9” forward has played in Korea and Greece and now can’t wait to make an impact in the ANBL with the Breakers. 

Gary was named All American in his senior year and athlete of the Western Athletic Conference for his efforts with Utah State. He is also no slouch in the classroom, having picked up the prestigious Stan Bates Award for academic achievement in the WAC. Now a NBL Championhsip Player in the 2010/11 season and in the same season he was named in the All-NBL Team.  

Gary returns to the SKYCITY Breakers this season, no doubt ready to pump the crowd with his chest thumping and all court game. His value to the roster was recognised with inclusion in the iiNET All First team last season, one of the better imports to come to the league we are thrilled to have Gary, Jessica and their new baby boy back this year.

Gary returns after a stand out first season with the club when he averaged 15.8 points per game, shot at a very healthy 54%. Regarded as the best inside-outside big man in the league much will be expected of the 6’9” forward from Utah this season. One of only three players in the league to score over 500 points last season, a similar return in 2011-12 will be handy.
