The Crocs Parking & Transport Plan for Game Days.
The Townsville McDonald’s Crocodiles ask that you plan to arrive at the Entertainment Centre at least an hour before tip off to enjoy our new Queenland Country Credit Union Fan Jam.
The Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre open their foyer doors an hour and a half before tip off. They open at 6pm for 7:30pm tip off, 2:30pm for 4pm tip offs 5pm for 6:30pm tip offs.
Below is a list of recommended ways to arrive at "The Swamp" if walking from home is not an option.
We also suggest you take the Warburton - Eyre Street route via car, park along The Strand and walk to the venue via ANZAC Park.
By Car
The Department of Transport and Main Roads’ Townsville Traffic Management Centre wishes to advise on the best and fastest way to get you to and from "The Swamp".
The recent developments in and around Flinders Street have resulted in changed conditions and to ensure that fans get to and from the game as quickly as possible, some simple, easy to follow directions have been published so that congestion and delays are minimised. This, along with some adjustments to the light changes on game nights, will allow traffic to flow as smoothly as possible.
If you are coming via car FROM:
1. Warburton - Eyre Streets – Travel in on Warburton and Eyre Streets and then get onto The Strand at either Gregory Street or at the roundabout at Oxley Street. On the way home
The Strand
is still the best and quickest way out and the roundabout on Oxley Street will be the quickest way back onto Eyre Street and then Warburton Street.
2. Railway Avenue- Saunders Street - Dean Street – Travel in on Dean Street and take a right at Flinders Street East. On game nights the lights will be synchronized to allow a larger number of right turns into Flinders Street East. On the way home stick to the left lane in Flinders Street East and once again the lights will be allowing a greater than normal flow of traffic.
3. Flinders Street West – If you are travelling in along Flinders Street West your best options are to deviate onto Sturt Street right into Denham Street and then left into Flinders Street East or alternatively Ogden Street left into Denham Street and right into Flinders Street East . Lights on these two streets will allow better access onto Flinders Street East and to the Entertainment Centre.
On the way home you can either travel straight down Flinders Street or turn right into Denham Street and then left into Sturt Street.
4. Sturt Street - If you are travelling in along Sturt Street right into Denham Street and then into Flinders Street East .
On the way home you can either travel straight down Flinders Street or turn right into Denham Street and then left into Sturt Street.
By Shuttle bus.
You may park and ride the shuttle for $1 each way. Buses to commence two hours before tip off. 5:30pm for 7:30pm game, 2pm for 4pm games, 4:30pm for 6:30pm games.
There are two pick up bus stops that you can catch a Crocs Shuttle from:
1. Cri Hotel Car Park to "The Swamp"
2. Walker St Bus Zone (Between Stokes & Stanley St – on Townsville City Council building side) to "The Swamp"
Shuttle buses will start again at the end of the game and will continue for one hour post game.
