Former Wildcat to make AFL debut

Former Perth Wildcats guard Hugh Greenwood is set to make his AFL debut for the Adelaide Crows on Saturday against the Brisbane Lions.

Greenwood signed with the Wildcats on a three-year deal roughly 18 months ago before electing to leave the sport in favour of a rookie contract with the Crows.

The former New Mexico University standout played the sport as a junior in Tasmania which contributed to his decision to make the change in code.

In addition to a stellar college career alongside Brisbane Bullets big man Cameron Bairstow, Greenwood also represented Australia at the 2015 World University games as well as the 2009 and 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championships.

In being elevated to the AFL roster Greenwood takes the place of Josh Jenkins, a former basketball player himself and a one time Townsville Crocodiles development player.
