The Perth Wildcats today announced the signing of Lucas Walker ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Walker initially joined the Wildcats last season as an injury replacement, but remained part of the playing group throughout the year.
A veteran forward who has played 161 games throughout his NBL career, Walker received the Wildcats Coaches’ Award honour during his first season in Perth.
The 32 year-old is known for his strength and athleticism, and brings tenacity on the boards to the Wildcats front-court.
Walker averaged 5.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in the 2015/16 NBL season, his last full season in the league spent with the Adelaide 36ers.
Prior to his stint with Adelaide, Walker was a key player for Melbourne from 2010-2015. He was one of the early Australian standouts with St Mary’s College in California. Read more about the St Mary’s connection here.
Walker joins the recently announced Corey Webster as the latest additions to the Perth Wildcats roster, as they build towards the 2017/18 season following a back to back championships.
