How long have you lived in Wollongong?
I have only lived in Wollongong for the last 4 months, however I’m all settled in and absolutely loving it!
Where’s your favourite spot to…
- Have a late breakfast?
The Green Room, City Beach Café – It’s in the perfect spot and only stones throw away from the beach. The food is great and coffee is on point. The staff are also really accommodating and friendly which adds to the whole experience.
- Go for lunch?
Levendi Café – It has a great view of the Harbour and you can enjoy anything from fish & chips to burgers and then top it off with some tasty cakes or gelato.
- Take someone for dinner?
Lagoon Seafood Restaurant – Enjoy some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever find. It’s also right near the beach (are you noticing a trend? ha) so this spot can’t be beaten. Plus, they have wonderful staff that are willing to go over and above to ensure you have everything you need.
- Go for a drink?
Dagwood – This place has a great vibe. It covers all types of occasions, catching up with mates, or heading out for a drink with a lady friend (Nick Kay & Kevin White) and they also have an extensive drinks list.
- Go for some fun?
Illawarra Hawks Game – The atmosphere inside the WEC is amazing. Our fans really do make a difference! It’s the perfect night out for a group of mates or a cheap outing for the family. Plus the possibility of a free cheeseburger makes it a can’t miss! Go Hawks!!!
To the beach – It’s the best thing about the Gong. I have only just figured out how to bodysurf, and its changed me, I feel like a new man ha. When you are lucky enough to live so close to these amazing beaches, you have to make the most of it!
GPT Shopping Centre – Wollongong Central Mall – It has everything you are after, from clothing stores to electronics and a delicious food court with lots to choose from.
- Any hidden gems?
The Sea Cliff Bridge – It’s a great drive that takes you along a rocky cliff face and over the water. If you’re lucky enough you might be able to spot some whales having a whale of a time haha boom!
Jamberoo Action Park – It’s a water amusement park that’s great fun and the perfect way to cool down whilst getting your adrenaline pumping.
- Where is the best coffee?
The Green Room City Beach Café – I have only just started getting around this coffee craze and I think the staff here are responsible for that. They do a mean vanilla latte! Thanks to the OLDer guys for giving me the push I needed (Oscar Forman).
- What is the one thing people MUST do when visiting?
Other than watching the Illawarra Hawks play at the WEC I would have to say head to the beach and try to catch a few waves. The beaches are what makes the Gong a fun and laid back place to live!
