An explosive three-point display has seen the Perth Wildcats exact swift revenge by beating the Adelaide 36ers 94-73 at the Distinctive Homes Dome on Wednesday.
The Sixers stung the Cats with an upset win at Challenge Stadium last weekend but that was quickly forgotten as the visitors went on a long-range rampage in the second half.
Perth hit an amazing 11 of 14 from outside the arc to outscore Adelaide 55-30 after the break.
Shawn Redhage scored 18 of 25 points, including four effortless threes, and was easily best on court.
Jesse Wagstaff had the next best tally with 15 points while Stephen Weigh and Drew Williamson chimed in with 12 each.
Adelaide was confronted by a full court press for most of the match and eventually it wore thin. In the end they couldn't find a way to the basket and will have to go back to the drawing board to deal with this tactic.
Matt Burston was prominent early and finished with 17 points, Cortez Groves added 15 points to the scoreboard while Adam Ballinger (12 points) was the only other player to reach double figures.
Adelaide and Perth's weekend form carried into this game with the Sixers players sharing the load while the Wildcats' radar was way off (20 per cent from the field).
Darren Ng provided the early spark with baskets and assists and Jacob Holmes' three plays in a row gave the home side a 10-point buffer.
Perth called a time out and in the remaining four minutes pressed the Sixers as they moved the ball into the front court.
Adelaide remained composed but the buckets stopped dropping allowing the visitors to hit back. Weigh got busy and a Wagstaff dunk saw the Wildcats claw the score-line back to 20-25 at quarter time.
The Sixers got the opening baskets but the Wildcats had the edge in a tough a second term - Redhage found his range and Wagstaff became a threat from outside the arc.
But while their defensive press continued to unsettled the opposition, and their offensive game had improved, they failed to take the lead.
The Sixers were hanging tough and when Ballinger and Burston went to hoop late in the period they held a shaky 43-39 half-time advantage.
It took John Gilchrist three minutes to break a third quarter deadlock but it didn't spark a rush of buckets with both teams unable to assert authority in the key.
Schenscher got the case of the fumbles in the front court while Adelaide was forced to conjure scoring opportunities and saw the shot-clock run dry twice.
But a time-out with four minutes to go sparked a crowd-stunning 12-3 run from Perth. A pair of three pointers to Williamson and one each for Redhage and Weigh gave them a lead for the first time in the match (59-54 at three-quarter time).
The three-points continued to drop in the final period with Groves providing a few counter punches to Perth's long-range brigade. However the Wildcats were flying as Redhage hit top gear and rarely missed.
A rattled Adelaide struggled to respond and was out of the contest when the last time-out was called with just under three minutes to play.
he result improves Perth's record to 10-7 while Adelaide is firing at 50 per cent with nine wins and nine losses. Both teams don't play again until New Year's Eve with the Wildcats heading north to play the Crocs while the Sixers head to Wollongong to play the Hawks.
