The on-going 2010 National Basketball League Grand Final series between the Perth Wildcats and the Wollongong ahm Hawks has been a knockout hit with fans, with both Games One and Two of the series complete sell-outs.

Earlier today Wollongong announced that Game Two of the NBL Grand Final series tomorrow night at the WIN Entertainment Centre will be a sell-out.

In a release to media on Monday morning, the Hawks announced that a crowd of approximately 5,700 will be on hand on Tuesday night as Wollongong look to level the series at one game apiece.  That attendance figure will dwarf the Hawks’ previous best crowd this season of 4,268, recorded on 12 February against the Melbourne Tigers.

“The atmosphere is going to be electric,” Hawks’ Captain Mat Campbell said in the release. “We want to say thank you to Wollongong for all the support and encouragement you have given us all this season and most importantly the energy you will all bring on Tuesday night!

“This is our last home game for the season so we’ll be giving it our all on court and we’re also looking forward to our fans giving it their all in the crowd and cheering us on as loud as they can” he added.

Despite the fact that Game Ones in the best-of series tend to attract smaller crowds than the later, deciding games, due to public demand the Wildcats were forced to offer standing-room only tickets for the series opener last Friday night at Perth’s Challenge Stadium.

Such was the demand for tickets to the NBL title series however that even these sold-out, with a Wildcats’ season-high crowd of 4,497 people cramming ‘The Jungle’ to see Perth take a 1-0 series lead with a 75-64 victory over the Hawks.

Tip off for Game Two tomorrow night will be at 7:30pm and the Hawks are encouraging fans to get to the game early to avoid queues getting into the building.  Doors open at 6:00PM on Tuesday night and auditorium doors will open at the early time of 6:30PM.

All games of the 2010 NBL Grand Final series are being shown live and exclusive on FOX SPORTS, with Game Two coverage starting at 7:30PM AEDT on FOX SPORTS 1.
