The most successful in-school programs run by the Breakers and Basketball Development Trust over the last 3 years. This is our "Harlem Globe Trotters" style Breaker Ball programme.
Breaker Ball consists of the Burger King Breakers Squad attending a school for the purpose of an Exhibition game. This game is played during the school lunch hour so that every child in the school gets the chance to see the players play.
As each school is different, we have a number of different options for the running of the Breaker Ball game. This game is organized with each school to get the best basketball experience possible.
Different Breaker Ball scenarios:
- The Breakers Vs The Junior School Team
- Breakers Vs The Junior School Team including Teachers
- A combined Breakers / Students Vs combined Breakers / Students team
- Breakers play half game Vs Boy’s team and half a game Vs the Girl’s team
The Breaker Ball is designed to give students that may not get the opportunity to attend a Burger King Breakers game the chance to see the Breakers in action. We have found this program generates a lot of interest in basketball as result of the Breakers attending the school. This is supported through the Breakers Breaker Ball Resource gifted to each school. This pack contains:
- Individual basketball skills booklets for all the students at the school
- Basketballs for the school sports shed
- Basketball Basics Teachers Manuels
