Newly signed Townsville Crocodiles import Gabriel Freeman has taken his team the San Miguel Beermen to their second straight grand final series at the PBA Fiesta Cup Championship in the Philippines.
Freeman led his team to a 91-83 victory over Llamados B-MEG Derby Ace on Sunday night in Game Six of their Semi Finals series, scoring 26 points and adding 22 rebounds.
The man known as ‘G-Force’ made 12-of-14- attempts from the foul line carrying his side to their second consecutive grand final berth and the team’s 31st Championship series appearance.
In Game Five on Friday, Freeman was similarly impressive. He grabbed a career-high 25 rebounds and added 18 points in San Miguel’s six-point loss to Derby Ace, 88-82.
The San Miguel Beermen will face the winner of Wednesday night’s deciding Game Seven of the other Semi Final series between the Alaska Milk Aces and the Talk ‘n’ Text Tropang Texters.
Freeman currently leads the PBA in rebounds per game (17) and is second highest on the season rankings for total rebounds (356).
The American may now join the Crocodiles a little later than first anticipated due to his extended PBA post-season commitments.
