The Wollongong NRE Hawks have announced that David Gruber is likely to don his number 42 jersey and make his way back on court tomorrow night, against NBL leaders New Zealand Breakers.
Gruber has been out of action for almost 10 weeks as a result of a hand injury that happened during practice, forcing him off the court and into the operating theatre.
“This certainly isn’t the way that I wanted to see my season but we take the good with the bad. It’s been tough watching the game from the sidelines and not being part of the plays. I am just ecstatic to be back on court playing with my team,” said Gruber.
While Gruber finds his way back on court on Saturday night, Captain Mat Campbell will be sitting it out with an Achilles injury which may see him on the sideline for a couple of weeks to come.
