Award Winners
At the end of each season, the NBL recognises its outstanding performers. Some awards are purely statistical while others are based on a voting system.
The Most Valuable Player award is the most prestigious individual honour in the game and is designed to recognise the most outstanding player throughout the season.
At the conclusion of each game, both coaches award votes to the best players from that contest. Each coach has 10 votes to allocate, with no more than five (5) to be awarded to one player by each coach.
At the end of the season, the player(s) with the most votes joins the honour roll as NBL Most Valuable Player.
The NBL Coach of the Year award takes into account regular season performances only, and is voted on by head coaches, assistant coaches (one per club) and team captains (one per club) on a 3-2-1 basis.
The Rookie of the Year, Best Defensive Player, Best Sixth Man and Most Improved Player awards are also voted on by coaches.
