ahm Right Choices is a unique personal development and social awareness program specifically developed by the Wollongong NRE Hawks. The program is designed to help teenagers as they confront a range of common social issues so that they can make better decisions, plan for a positive future and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Program sessions are interactive, hard hitting and deliver some strong messages. Presented by Hawks players and coaches, ahm Right Choices is split into five sessions which are delivered across varying age groups within High Schools;
1. Safe Partying & Sexual Health
2. Driver Safety
3. Say “No” to Drugs and Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle
4. Planning for a Positive Future
5. Youth Suicide, How to Beat a Bully, Youth Depression & Mental Health
As professional sportsmen and role models in our community there is a great benefit in the Hawks players being part of the program and sharing some of their own experiences and stories with participants.
With the support ahm Health Insurance, the Club is committed to the delivery of ahm Right Choices to over 30 schools across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands and it is expected that around 2,000 students will participate over the coming months.

Programs such as ahm Right Choices form the foundation of the Club’s community activities. As a community owned and focussed organisation it is important that we are active in the local area and surrounds. Delivering meaningful programs within our region’s schools, is a wonderful way for the Club to give back to the community.

We are particularly excited about our involvement in their innovative Rights Choices program. By engaging with teenagers experiencing significant amounts of peer pressure, this program helps them to see themselves in a positive way, to feel proud of what they've done and to feel confident about what they can achieve in the future.
