Some of our U18s group are about to embark on a tour of USA next week to match their skills and experience against high school basketballers in the States. The following are in the tour party:

The team will leave Monday 29th November and head direct to Dallas, Texas where they are competing in the De Soto Tournament starting the 2nd December.  While in Dallas they will be travelling to Baylor University in Waco to see a Women’s College game between Notre Dame and Baylor.  

After the tournament in Dallas the team head to San Antonio to watch the San Antonio Spurs take on New Orleans Hornets and also play a game against Byron P Steele High School.  

The tour then heads to Seattle where 6 games against various High Schools have been organised and also an overnight tour to Forks, home of the Twilight Series!! While in Seattle, all travelling will be experiencing home stays and the American way of living.  

Finally, the end of the tour finishes up in LA where the tour goes to the John Wooden Classic to watch Saint Mary’s vs Long Beach State and UCLA vs BYU. Of course this is also when the shopping will be happening in between the Disneyland and Universal Studios experience!!  

The tour concludes on the 23rd December. The club extends to the travelling group a safe journey, awesome shopping and a wonderful experience!

The Under 18s USA tour group had a fantastic result in the De Soto Tournament coming runners up in the Grand Final by a mere 1 point.  The girls are all having a fantastic time, all fit and healthy and getting along well.  

They are off to San Antonio tomorrow to watch the Spurs game and then play a game on the 6th before heading to Seattle on the 7th.  Very lucky bunch of teenage girls!!
