School Visits

The Perth Wildcats don't just focus on being the best performing team in the National Basketball League, but everyone involved at the club knows the importance of being an active member of the community.

That focus sees the Wildcats put a large amount of time and effort into getting out and about into the community of Perth, and Western AUstralia, and a large part of that is visiting a host of schools each and every week.

The Wildcats spend significant hours in the community, through a series of different programs, including school visits, holiday clinics, and recent involvement in the local State Basketball League (SBL). Wildcats players and coaches have been apart of a grass roots program engaging with local basketball associations across WA.

The school visits where the Wildcats players and coaches host clinics are extremely popular with the students at each school, and goes a long way to helping the Perth Wildcats remain at the forefront of the WA sporting landscape.

However, more importantly while the kids they visit get to learn some basketball skills through skill clinics and the like there is also lessons in living and eating right as the Wildcats players make themselves available to offer some help or guidance in any way possible.

Thanks to all schools which have participated in the program so far. It has been a huge success. If you would like your school to be involved in our community programs, or are interested in school clinics, please call Katie Reed on 6272 0778 or at katie@wildcats.com.au.

The Perth Wildcats have currently made over 120 community appearances in this current financial year, and hope to have that number above 250 by the end of the 2011/12 iiNet NBL Championship season.
