Harrison is a year 6 student at Caversham Primary School. He was sent the task of preparing a learning activity for his class.
His passion is basketball and he was hoping to get some help to run a mini clinic for his class. His teacher suggested he contact the local high school. He did that, but unfortunately, they were unable to help. His teacher then contacted the Perth Wildcats on the off chance that they might be able to help!!
The Perth Wildcats are all about Community and try to help wherever possible. Harrison’s response to the news that Drew Williamson & Shawn Redhage would like to help him with his learning activity…..
“I was astounded when I heard the awesome news, I mean, it’s the championship winning heroes, the Perth Wildcats. You would think I would be over the moon, you’re wrong I was over the sun. When I was told that it was Drew and Shawn that were coming, I was hurting with excitement!
I mean it was the star captain and the crazy 3-point guard, does it get any better? Did anyone expect the wildcats to come,? No, but sure that was cool. But they did come.
We had a ball, the class learnt some great skills and drills like passing the ball between your legs and dribbling backwards. Have a look at some of our pics.”
Thanks for the kind words Harrison. Drew & Shawn send a big thanks to Harrison and the Year 6’s at Caversham PS for including them in their learning activities and for a great afternoon on the court.
