Perth Wildcats big man Jeremiah Trueman took time out to attend the Good Samaritan Industries annual Christmas Lunch and what a big hit he was.
At the annual Good Samaritan Industries Christmas lunch, a traditional festive feast was provided. The food was great, there were Christmas carols being played and sung which added to the atmosphere and then Wildcats big man Trueman simply stole the show.
He put on a fantastic basketball clinic and display of his talents which was appreciated by all and sundry in attendance. Trueman also gave out Perth Wildcats posters and they will sure to be cherished by the lucky ones who received them.
Good Samaritan Industries Donations and Collections Manager Ann Cunningham couldn’t have been more delighted to have Trueman's presence, and the overall support of the Perth Wildcats.
"The support of the Wildcats in taking time to acknowledge Good Samaritan employees is invaluable to people with disabilities who have overwhelming challenges to face in life every day," she said.
Good Samaritan Industries is a bona-fide registered West Australian charity and not-for-profit organisation that provides meaningful paid employment for people with disabilities, giving them the opportunity to participate in the mainstream of life and enjoying the resources, dignity and inner-strength that comes from earning a living.
Donations are the lifeblood of Good Samaritan Industries and without them they simply could not exist. Just one Good Sammy recycling/donation bin in place helps to provide paid employment for up to four people with disabilities.
Sustainability is a challenge in today's throwaway society; so it is noteworthy that as a by-product to the charitable work undertaken by Good Samaritan Industries, that they also play an important role in recycling and have strategic recycling processes in place at the warehouse in Canning Vale.
In the last financial year alone, close to four million kilograms of items were processed and recycled, which may have otherwise ended up in landfill. This is solid proof that the Good Sammy recycling/donation bins offer a successful recycling option for the general community.
