This is an example where a shot clock shall not be reset. If the game is stopped for a defensive foul in the frontcourt of the team in possession, the shot clock shall not be reset and continue from the time displayed when the foul was called if there is 14 seconds or more remaining on the shot clock at the time the game was stopped. In this example, the Yellow team is in possession of the ball in their frontcourt when Yellow 3 is fouled by Black 20 with 16 seconds remaining on the shot clock. The referee calls the foul and awards the ball to the Yellow team from the sideline in their frontcourt. The shot clock shall not be reset and start from 16 seconds when play resumes.
