This is an example of a player fouled in the act of shooting in a continuous movement to the basket. The act of shooting in a continuous movement on drives to the basket or moving shots starts when the ball has come to rest in the player’s hand(s), upon completing a dribble or catching a pass, and the player starts the shooting motion preceding the release of the ball. In this example, Blue 25 drives to the basket, ends his dribble and the ball comes to rest in both hands. Blue 25 is then fouled by White 44, takes two more steps and completes his shooting motion with the ball entering the basket. The basket by Blue 25 shall count as he was fouled in the act of shooting.
