This is an example of a foul on the shooter for a kick out. A shooter is responsible for contact and should be penalised when they kick out a leg - outside what would be deemed their normal shooting action - to cause contact with a defender. In this example, White 24 has released his 3-point attempt and then kicks out his right leg to cause contact with the leg of defender Black 21 who legally challenges the shot jumping towards White 24. This is a kick out foul by White 24 and not a team control foul as the contact occurs after the shot is released.
