This is an example of a no call. Once a defender has established initial legal guarding position, they can move laterally or backwards and jump vertically to maintain legal guarding position. In this example, Orange 25 establishes an initial legal guarding position as White 8 starts his drive to the basket and maintains that legal guarding position by sliding laterally and backwards as the move continues. Orange 25 then jumps vertically with both hands straight in the air as White 8 shoots the ball, when contact occurs. This is a no call and play shall continue.
