In the second example, White 3 drives hard at the rim and defender Purple 6 elevates at the same time, making legal body contact within his cylinder. In the third example, Purple 24 drives at the basket where White 15 holds his ground and defends with his hands vertical within his cylinder. The defender is entitled to his position on the floor and this is legal defence by White 15.
