The Brisbane Bullets have received a big boost on the eve of their Ignite Cup clash with the Tasmania JackJumpers at MyState Bank Arena.

The club announced that 464-game NBA talent and two-time Olympian Raul Neto has been cleared to make his debut on Wednesday night.

Ahead of the Round 6 fixture, the Brazilian guard, who is replacing the injured Arnas Velicka in Will Weaver’s squad, explained that he is happy to do whatever is needed for his franchise to be successful.

“I’m at the point in my career that my individual numbers I don’t really care too much about it,” Neto said.

“But if I can help the team and the other players to get better with my experience, and with my knowledge of the game and being a leader and point guard on the court, I feel like for me that’s more important than what I’m going to do individually.

“Also, of course, I’m a competitor, and winning games is what I play for, so hopefully we can win games first, and I can leave a mark on everybody and be able to help the team how it really needs me to.”

Neto, who spent time with the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA, is one of two players scheduled to make their season debut on Wednesday, with Taine Murray also cleared.

Murray has missed the first five rounds of the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season due to a lower-limb injury.

In other Bullets injury news, Tyrell Harrison will be a game-time decision after injuring his ankle against South East Melbourne, while Jacob Holt (ankle) is expected to be sidelined for five weeks, with Archie Woodhill to replace him in the lineup.

Wednesday’s fixture tips off at 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
