The New Zealand Breakers have signalled a new beginning for the club as preparations for the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season ramp up, with renewed energy, ambition and an exciting new brand identity.

With new off-court leadership, a new coaching group, new players and a new look, the club is focused on creating a stronger connection with its fans and building a future that reflects the energy, pride and potential of basketball in Aotearoa.

Tuesday marks the start of that work: a new chapter, built on the club's history and focused firmly on what comes next.

"The Breakers have always stood for more than basketball," Breakers owner Marc Mitchell said.

"They represent a nation, possibility and a connection that runs deep with our fans and community.

"We carry that history with us, but our focus is firmly on what comes next: competing with intent, creating moments people want to be part of, and building a future our supporters can believe in."

The Breakers have long held a distinctive place in Aotearoa sport: a club that has taken on the odds, brought people together and helped grow the game of basketball.

As the club prepares for the season ahead, its focus is on taking that legacy forward.

On the court, that means playing with energy, connection and purpose.

Beyond it, it means creating a club that supporters feel part of, one that brings people closer to the team, reflects its home and gives the next generation something to rally behind.

"Today is more than a new look for us," Breakers CEO Troy Georgiu said.

"It is the visible expression of a club moving forward with real belief in what we can become.

"Our work now is to turn that belief into action, through the team, the experience we create for supporters and the standards we set every day."

The Breakers' new identity is grounded in Aotearoa, reflecting the place they call home and the mindset they bring to the game: powerful, dynamic and always moving forward.

At the heart of the identity is the energy of the moana.

Its movement and constant change inspire how the brand comes to life, while reflecting the ocean that surrounds Aotearoa and connects the Breakers to the wider world, including across the Tasman to the NBL.

It's an identity grounded in where the Breakers are from, with the energy to take them forward.

The colour palette is a nod to Aotearoa's sporting legacy and landscape.

The black sand and cloud white colour ways represent possibility and ambition, while blue will appear as a seasonal expression of the moana and its energy.

The new word mark and B icons are designed to carry meaning through form.

Their bold, flowing shapes create a distinct visual language for the Breakers, bringing movement, energy and character to the identity.

Every element is designed to carry part of the Breakers story: a club shaped by its home, connected across oceans and committed to meeting the moment together.

The new identity will be introduced across team wear, digital channels, game-day experience and community activity throughout the 2026-27 NBL season.
