36ers re-sign key big man

The Adelaide 36ers have re-signed Nick Rakocevic on a one-year deal.
Adelaide 36ers big man Nick Rakocevic has re-signed with the club, keeping him in the City of Churches through to the end of the NBL27 campaign.
Rakocevic was a key part of the 36ers’ frontcourt this season, averaging 8.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, while playing a key role in the club’s run to the Championship Series.
28-year-old Rakocevic says Adelaide has become a place he is proud to call home.
“Re-signing with the 36ers was an easy decision for me,” Rakocevic said.
“There is something special about playing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and wearing this jersey.
“I love the passion of the fans, the culture we’re building, and the belief this group has in what we can achieve.
“Adelaide has embraced me from day one, and I’m excited to continue representing this club and this community.”
General Manager of Basketball Operations, Matt Weston, said retaining Rakocevic was a priority for the club.
“Nick has proven himself as one of the premier big men in the league,” Weston said.
“His consistency and toughness set a standard for our group. He impacts the game on both ends of the floor and is someone we can rely on in big moments.
“He brings a strong work ethic and a team-first mentality that aligns perfectly with what we’re building here, and he is another key signing as we continue to shape our roster for sustained success.”
Rakocevic joins six-time MVP Bryce Cotton, Zylan Cheatham, Flynn Cameron, Isaac Humphries, Dejan Vasiljevic, Isaac White, and Ben Griscti as contracted players for the Sixers next season.
