The Adelaide 36ers have signed 371-game NBA veteran Troy Brown Jr as their third import for the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season.

The Adelaide 36ers have bolstered their already exciting roster by announcing the signing of NBA veteran Troy Brown Jr.

With five-time MVP Bryce Cotton recently receiving his Australian citizenship, the 36ers freed up an extra import spot to play alongside forward Zylan Cheatham and big man Nick Rakocevic, which they decided to sign on wing Brown Jr.

The 26-year-old University of Oregon alum has played 371 NBA games during his career, including stops with the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and most recently, the Detroit Pistons.

The Las Vegas product is expected to arrive in Australia in the coming days, joining a roster that also features Australian Boomers Dejan Vasiljevic and Isaac Humphries, as well as Tall Black Flynn Cameron.

Adelaide, fresh of a win in Tasmania on Thursday night, hosts Cairns on Sunday, from 4.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and Channel 10, with Brown Jr expected to suit up.

“Troy has great size and length,” 36ers General Manager of Basketball Operations, Matt Weston said.

“He’s a legitimate shooter who is very good on the defensive side of the ball with great hands."

Weston said the club took its time to assess its needs before landing on the signing.

“We wanted to assess our group and other teams in the league to determine what type of player could make us better,” he explained.

‘We had to consider what we need to make sure we can beat the best teams not just now, but twice in a week come March.

“We’re confident it won’t take long for Troy to adjust to our game style and make a positive impact for our group.”
