Bullets star out for season

The Brisbane Bullets have announced Casey Prather has undergone season-ending knee surgery on Thursday.
The Brisbane Bullets will be without star import Casey Prather for the remainder of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season, the club announced on Thursday.
The three-time NBL champion, who hurt his knee during Brisbane's loss to New Zealand on Wednesday night, underwent surgery on Thursday to correct a hardware-related fixation issue.
Although Prather's scans came back better than expected, with no major tendon or ligament damage, the injury will sideline the University of Florida alum until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
“Casey’s impact goes far beyond the court. He’s brought leadership, experience and skill to our team from day one," Bullets head coach Stu Lash said.
"Our focus is on his wellbeing and recovery, and the entire club is right behind him.”
Prather, who was averaging a career-high 24.4 points a game this season, will be replaced in Brisbane's squad by Lamar Patterson for the club's Round 9 fixture with Melbourne United on Saturday at John Cain Arena.
That match tips off at 5.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
