Are the Bullets back? Prather says Wednesday will tell us

Through the opening two rounds of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season, the Sydney Kings and Brisbane Bullets have arguably impressed more than anyone.

Both outfits sit at 2-0 heading into Round 3, and as fate would have it, the two sides will lock horns on Wednesday night during an exciting Ignite Cup fixture at Afterpay Arena.

Former Bullet Casey Prather, who is now in Japan with the Nagasaki Velca, is excited for his old team to challenge themselves against the reigning champions.

"On one side, you've got the Bullets who are eager to prove themselves in this League, while the other side is trying to defend their crown," Prather said on NBL Now, presented by CODE Sports.

"The Bullets haven't had a real test yet, in my opinion, so this is a great opportunity for them to go on the road against the reigning champs and answer some questions about whether [they're] back or not."

On the flip side, the three-time NBL champion believes the Kings are as hungry as ever to defend their franchise's sixth title.

"I like what Sydney are doing, and how they're approaching it," he added.

"I don't think they're coming in here with a complacent-type of mindset.

"KD (Kendric Davis) is still hungry; they're fortunate enough to have Torrey Craig out there for the full season, and they've got some good veterans like Xavier [Cooks], who is going to be Xavier [out on the court].

"I wouldn't be surprised if they come back and did it (win) again; I know Goorj (Brian Goorjian) is aiming to get another championship before he retires.

"I'm here for it and can't wait to see how far they (the Kings) can go with it."
