“HoopsFest is about raising the bar every year, and the Slam Wall is another example of how we’re continuing to evolve the fan experience."
HoopsFest Perth is set to deliver a jaw-dropping in-arena spectacle with the introduction of the HoopsFest Perth Slam Wall, a colossal new visual centrepiece that will transform the atmosphere inside RAC Arena for the entirety of the festival.
Stretching 32.4 metres wide and 7.8 metres high, the Slam Wall will occupy the entire North-side of the arena, becoming one of the largest in-arena screens ever used in Australian basketball.
The display is made up of three connected screens, a massive 18-metre-wide centre panel flanked by two 7.2-metre-wide wings, combining to create a single, seamless visual canvas.
To put its scale into perspective, the Slam Wall is more than eight times the total screen area of the existing RAC Arena cube screen, standing 1.6 times taller and over five times wider.
Its width is also just one metre shorter than the giant big screen at Optus Stadium, placing it firmly among the largest sporting displays in the country.
Designed specifically for HoopsFest Perth, the Slam Wall represents a significant investment in fan experience and production innovation, pushing the boundaries of live sport presentation and reinforcing HoopsFest’s position as Australia’s biggest and boldest basketball festival.
Alex Hamilton, NBL Chief Product Officer said, “HoopsFest is about raising the bar every year, and the Slam Wall is another example of how we’re continuing to evolve the fan experience.
"It completely changes the way fans engage with the game inside the arena, creating an atmosphere you can’t get anywhere else.
"We’re incredibly grateful to RAC Arena for their support and for helping us bring something this ambitious to life.”
With thousands of fans expected across the multi-day event, the Slam Wall will play a central role in building atmosphere and creating unforgettable moments, whether it’s a clutch three, a monster dunk, or the roar of the crowd filling Perth’s RAC Arena.
HoopsFest Perth 2026 will take over the city from January 15-18, featuring NBL and WNBL games, free fan experiences in the city, open-tournaments and live entertainment across multiple venues.
Delivered with the support of the Western Australian Government, through Tourism Western Australia, the festival will feature as part of a suite of summer events set to bring thousands of visitors to Western Australia.
