Talking points
Phoenix's opportunity
In the first Throwdown of NBL27, the Phoenix were embarrassed on their home court, only hitting 4-41 from downtown and managing 61 points.
This performance saw coach Josh King apologise to his fans in the post-game press conference.
Add the fact they trail the all-time series 23-10 and their recent return to form against Illawarra, and South East Melbourne will be desperate to shake the ‘little brother’ tag and chalk up their third win of the season.
Play for the full 40 minutes
Melbourne, which has won each of its last 10 night games against South East Melbourne, has struggled to produce 40 solid minutes of play lately.
United faded in the fourth against Cairns and nearly gave up a double-digit lead against Adelaide, before holding on.
If Jacob Chance’s side are to make some noise this season, they need to play for all four quarters and that starts on Saturday.
