Talking points

New vibes in Brisbane
While the Bullets may have lost to Melbourne United on Saturday night, it was another rejuvenated and inspiring display considering where this team has come from.

Making Tyrell Harrison the focal point and putting in offensive sets designed to maximise his play has paid off so far for Darryl McDonald.

The Bullets have brought in Hunter Maldonado to give them a much-needed boost in the backcourt and make a run at the Play-In tournament.

Hottest team in the league
The Sydney Kings are the hottest team in the league and if the playoffs were to begin now, they’re the team no one wants to face.

Led by Kendric Davis, who is having his most damaging season in the league, the Kings are firing on all cylinders.

Defensively they’re suffocating everyone and capitalising on the other end with ease.

What they're saying

Kings coach Brian Goorjian on his side's gradual build in NBL26:
“As I said at the start of the year, I’m enjoying the group.

"There’s a long way to go and we can get a lot better.

"You look over time, the build from last year to this year.

"You want to be that Perth, that Melbourne, a team that’s always in the four. It’s a build, it’s a process.”

Bullets interim head coach Darryl McDonald on his team's post-season chances:
"I still think we're a chance and I don't think we're out of it until we're actually out of it so we have to fight every game and in these close we just have to come up with some of these wins, and if we do that we'll put some pressure on these teams we're chasing.

"What we have to do is give ourselves a chance to win and we can't let teams get out on us, that's the one thing that's hurt us going back to my first game against South East.

"Once they got out on us, we couldn’t get it back and the same thing against Melbourne, but I knew because we've done it before against Melbourne after getting down pretty big, and we've been able to make a comeback before shooting ourselves in the foot by giving up some o-boards.

"My plan is to go into this game like any other is to play to win and come up with a plan that will help us do that."
