Talking points
Defensive masterclass
The leagues two best defensive teams will battle for supremacy on Monday night.
In recent history, the NBL has shown that teams who are in the top three defensively rated, will be contending for a title at the end of the season.
Both of these teams have the capabilities of being impossible to score on, which will make this a fascinating watch
Galloway's time to shine
It hasn't been the breakout season that many predicted for Jaylin Galloway, but with Bul Kuol sidelined, now is the time.
Galloway was coming into NBL26 with supreme confidence, shooting it from outside and getting out in transition with ease.
While the offensive end looks to improve, it's the defensive end that the Kings need him to lock in on in the absence of Kuol
What they're saying
Kings coach Brian Goorjian on Monday's clash with South East Melbourne:
"[Monday is going to be] really challenging.
"I believe we're both a little like each other, trying to play full court, push the ball and play similar styles.
"They've been great all year and will again be a challenge, especially with the depth they have. They go deep and they keep it on you for 40.
"But it's on our court, [so it's up to us to defend it]."
Phoenix coach Josh King on his defensive star John Brown III:
"I've said it before, John Brown III is a monster on defence."
"We always feel, regardless of all the good players around the league, whoever John Brown's guarding, it's advantageous [for us].
"No offence to whoever he's guarding. He's just that good on defence. A lot of credit to JB."
