"I want to be the future of this League": Davis

Sydney Kings star Kendric Davis has responded in a big way, producing a massive double-double to steer his side to victory.
After the ending to Game 2 on Friday night, the pressure was on Sydney Kings star Kendric Davis heading into Sunday’s clash with Adelaide.
And didn’t the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 MVP runner-up deliver in a big way?
The American guard had 34 points, 15 assists, 2 rebounds and 0 turnovers to power the Kings to a 106-93 win over Adelaide, guiding them to a 2-1 lead in the Series.
Post-game, during an interview, Davis addressed his rivalry with six-time MVP Bryce Cotton after another tense post-game with the 36ers star.
“I just love to compete, and I feel Bryce would say the same thing,” Davis told ESPN.
“It’s all love, and I watched him growing up. I just love competing against greatness.
“I want to be the future of the League.”
The All-NBL First Team player also explained how his team responded on Sunday, in front of a historic crowd at Qudos Bank Arena.
“[Today required] 40 minutes of team-together basketball,” Davis said.
“I can go down the line with everyone [playing their role], while our coaches had us prepared.
“Our crowd was unbelievable, and we couldn’t have done it without them.”
