The Adelaide 36ers kept their NBL Ignite Cup Final hopes alive with a convincing win over Cairns on Wednesday.
The Adelaide 36ers well and truly kept their NBL Ignite Cup Final hopes alive on Wednesday, defeating the Cairns Taipans 93-73 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
As well as claiming victory, sparked by Bryce Cotton's 22 points and 11 assists, in the fixture, Mike Wells' side won all four quarters, to secure themselves a maximum of seven points from the clash.
By doing this, the 36ers now sit in second spot on the Ignite Cup ladder (with 15 points), only behind leaders New Zealand, who are on 18.
The 36ers' fourth and final Ignite Cup game of the inaugural in-season tournament is on Wednesday, January 28 against the Brisbane Bullets at the Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre.
This defeat leaves Cairns without any points after two matches, with fixtures with South East Melbourne and United still to come.
There are seven total games remaining in the Ignite Cup and the Phoenix has three to play, while every other team in the league will feature at least once, except for the Kings.
Fans can now secure tickets for the Final that will be played at the Gold Coast Entertainment Centre on February 22, where one team will win $300,000 and the runner-up awarded $100,000. It is the largest prize pool in NBL history.
