Injury sidelines JackJumpers star

JackJumpers captain Will Magnay is set for a stint on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
The injury crisis at the Tasmania JackJumpers has worsened, following the news Will Magnay is set for a stint on the sidelines.
The JackJumpers announced on Wednesday their captain, who is averaging 9.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game during the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season, is out and will be reassessed ahead of Round 10 due to a bruised right knee sustained at practice this week.
Magnay, who represented Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, joins import David Johnson (calf) and Anthony Drmic (back) on the sidelines, while Sean Macdonald (knee) is out for the season.
This is a tough blow for the NBL24 champions, who have four straight losses and currently sit in sixth with a 5-7 record.
Archie Woodhill and Jacob Richards will replace Magnay and Drmic (who is out for another 3-4 weeks) in Tasmania's squad for their Round 9 clash with Adelaide at MyState Bank Arena.
That fixture tips off at 7.30pm AEDT on Thursday, live on ESPN.
