Josh King is thrilled that his Phoenix team was able to "put it all together" against Brisbane.

Three straight wins has solidified South East Melbourne's third spot on the ladder.

The most recent of those came on Saturday night when the Heartland club smashed the Bullets 109-86 in Brisbane, in a performance that coach Josh King said his team "put it all together", despite losing star import John Brown to an ejection.

"We [finally] put it all together [on Saturday]," King said in the post-game press conference.

"It was 14-1 at the start and we knew, a good team like Brisbane with plenty of pride, was going to come storming back and they did. [So much so], they had us on the ropes there for a bit.

"But after half-time, we played more direct, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I am proud of the way we responded and wore them down."

While happy with the energy and effort, forcing Brisbane into 17 turnovers and grabbing 26-14 offensive rebounds during the Indigenous Round clash, King knows his team still needs to be "more disciplined" if they want to keep getting better as a group.

"We have come off a stretch where we played five games in 13 days, winning four of them," King said.

"That means there is improvement to do, because we did not win all five.

"We are playing well, but it is still early in the year and there is a lot of improvement that we have to make if we want to be uh the best versions of ourselves."

The Phoenix next host Perth at John Cain Arena on Sunday, November 2.

That Round 7 fixture tips off at 2.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and Channel 10.
