He’s only been in Australia a couple of days, but four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins already has rave reviews for the country.

The American big man is currently in Melbourne for the first-ever NBA House, which runs from Thursday to Sunday at the Timber Yard.

During a one-on-one interview with Channel 9, the Olympic gold medallist said Melbourne is a “beautiful city with beautiful people. The weather's been incredible, as has the food, which is the way to my heart.”

Cousins says he has been a long-time admirer of is the NBL and has ‘watched from afar for a number of years’.

“I've had a few friends who have played in the League,” Cousins said to Channel 9.

“It [the NBL] is like a really good soap opera. I like how they kind of stir the pot, keep the fans engaged and put the drama within the game.

“That's very entertaining, and it's great for the game.

“Great athletes, great players, and I think it's a good league.”

Cousins will be joined by fellow NBA stars Jaren Jackson Jr., Jock Landale and Johnny Furphy, among others, at NBA House this weekend.
