Round 2 Recap: SuperCoach NBL Classic

Bryce Cotton led SuperCoach NBL Round 2 with 94 points as double-header players dominated.

Adelaide 36ers superstar Point God Bryce Cotton ($473,900) is a bargain. You read that right: the most expensive player in SuperCoach NBL is a bargain.
Cotton, 34, was a SuperCoach captain's delight in Round 2, pouring in 94 points (188 with the C) in Adelaide's first double-header (DH) round. The 36ers play twice again in Rounds 3, 4 and 7.
"Now it's my time": Max Mackinnon ($200,000) was the only player in the Round 2 top 10 who didn't play twice, and he got there (55 points) on the back of a career night. He put up 31 points and pulled down 12 rebounds alongside NBL assists leader Arnas Velicka ($277,000) in Brisbane's 103-95 win against the Illawarra Hawks on Friday.
Velicka leads SuperCoach NBL for average at 55 points per game, while Breakers guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright ($405,200) has piled up the most overall points, with 151 in three games.

Mackinnon, 22, finished one point ahead of Perth Wildcats double-header forward Kristian Doolittle ($317,500). Ooft.
Wildcats teammate Anthony Dell'Orso ($100,000), the fourth most traded-out player between Rounds 1 and 2, made A LOT of SuperCoaches look bad and feel worse, bouncing back from minus-2 in Round 1 to 75 points in Round 2. Backcourt running mate Elijah Pepper ($202,700) (72 points) is also shaping as a must-have before his price rises. The only catch is that the Wildcats don't have another DH until Round 7.
Thirteen of the top 15 in Round 2 scored more than 50 points, while Sydney King Kendric Davis ($436,000) delivered 46 points in just 27:57 on court. His points-per-minute rate is off-the-charts good.
Cotton's teammate Nick Rakocevic ($188,400) is making the most of Isaac Humphries ($265,300) being on the sidelines, supporting the six-time MVP in both the box scores and SuperCoach NBL. Rakocevic had 41 points and 20 rebounds across two games, but his 1-from-8 at the free-throw line (including an airball) cost him. Without it, his 79-point weekend would have been close to 90.
