Kings lose guard to season-ending injury

Sydney Kings guard Tyler Robertson will miss the remainder of the NBL26 season due to an AC joint injury.
The Sydney Kings announced on Wednesday that Tyler Robertson will miss the remainder of the NBL26 season through injury.
The second-year guard suffered a high-grade AC joint injury during the Kings’ Round 22 win over the Brisbane Bullets.
Robertson will undergo surgery this week and begin rehabilitation with the club’s medical team following the procedure.
Kings coach Brian Goorjian said Robertson’s loss was disappointing, but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to respond.
“Tyler has had an outstanding season, and this is obviously tough news for him and for our group,” Goorjian said via a club statement.
“He’s stepped up every time we’ve needed him, and his growth this year has been significant.
“One of our strengths all season has been our depth, and while we’d love to have Tyler out there with us, we have great belief in this group and our ability to perform heading into Finals.
“Our focus now is supporting Tyler through his recovery and having him ready for the future.”
Robertson had produced career-best figures in points (6), rebounds (2.7), steals (0.4), field goal percentage (49.5) and three-point percentage (47.8) this season.
The Kings will open their post-season campaign on Wednesday, March 11, with game one of the Playoffs Series at Qudos Bank Arena from 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
