Talking points

Who needs a PG?
The Wildcats will have to rely on Kristian Doolittle to do what he had to do last season and bring the ball up the floor, in the absence of Brandon Knight and the injured Jaron Rillie.

While it’s not ideal for the star forward to have to be utilised elsewhere, Doolittle showed he is more than capable of controlling the game for his team.

How many threes?
One statistic to watch almost every season for the South East Melbourne Phoenix will be how many threes they attempt each game.

Josh King has adapted the method that the Golden State Warriors made famous in 2016, by simply getting up more attempts than their opponents and utilising a roster that has every player able to knock them down,
