What is the Ignite Cup?

The in-season tournament is played across 20 Wednesday night games, with every result counting towards the regular-season ladder. A unique quarter-by-quarter scoring system decides a separate Ignite Cup ladder.

For NBL27, the tournament evolves into a four-team Ignite Cup Finals Series at AIS Arena in Canberra. The teams will battle it out for a share of $550,000 in prize money, the largest in League history and up from last season's $400,000.

Talking points

Battle of the undefeated sides

Through the opening two rounds of the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season, only two sides remain undefeated: Sydney and Brisbane.

Those two teams will lock horns on Wednesday night, in one of the top games of the schedule to date.

The fixture will also mark Will Weaver’s first time back in Sydney since guiding the Kings to the NBL20 Championship Series.

Point Gods

The engine of the League’s two undefeated sides has been their respective point guards.

NBL26 Championship Series MVP Kendric Davis has picked up where he left off last season, with back-to-back Player of the Game performances.

Arnas Velička has taken the League by storm, becoming the first player to have double-digit assists in his first two games since Derek Rucker in 1990.
