Over the past four seasons, Milton Doyle has established himself as one of the most dynamic scorers in the Hungry Jack's NBL.

Across his 131 games at Tasmania and Melbourne, Doyle is averaging 15.9, which includes his second-best effort of 16.2 in NBL26. This highlights how impressive his play was, despite chatter that he had a 'down year' with United in 2025-26.

"I don't think I had an up-and-down year at all; that's just narrative that the media painted," Doyle said to NBL Media.

"It was probably one of my most consistent years.

"I led that [United] team in scoring, so I think I'll be great [again] this year."

Now, this season, the 32-year-old will team up with fellow US-born scorer Tyler Harvey in one of the most exciting backcourts in the League.

"We both have similar games to each other, so I feel we complement one another," Doyle said.

"We're bigger guards, can both play off the ball or on the ball and are two really good scorers, so it'll be fun."

Harvey is actually one of the main reasons the NBL24 champion ended up in Wollongong.

"We talked beforehand. [Tyler] is one of the reasons I actually came here. We talked before I even talked to JT (Justin Tatum). He reached out to JT, who then got the ball rolling from there," Doyle said to the Illawarra Mercury.

"He (Harvey) made my decision easy to come here, [especially] with the fast-paced style of play that they play under JT. We will get up lots of threes and play hard.

"It's an exciting place to actually play. The fans here are also similar to the ones in Tassie; they really get behind the club and really show their support, which we players love."

Doyle and his Hawks open their NBL27 season against New Zealand at Spark Arena on Sunday, September 19.
