Key King ruled out for season

The Sydney Kings announced on Thursday big man Keli Leaupepe would miss the entire Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season due to an ACL injury.

Leaupepe, who was sidelined the entire NBL26 campaign with the same injury to his right knee, suffered the injury playing NBL1 for the Knox Raiders.

‍”Our entire club will be with him every step of the way as he begins his rehab,” a Kings spokesperson said.

“Leaupepe will consult with specialists and the Sydney Kings medical team this week to establish the next steps.”‍

‍This news leaves Xavier Cooks, Kendric Davis, Matthew Dellavedova, Torrey Craig, Makuach Maluach, Tyler Robertson, Jason Spurgin, Jayden Stone, Harry Wessels and reported signing Andrew Carr on Brian Goorjian's side for the coming season.

The reigning champions open their campaign against Cairns on Sunday, September 20 at Afterpay Arena.
