REPORT: Kings finalising import deal

ESPN's Olgun Uluc is reporting that reigning champions Sydney are set to add G League big man Andrew Carr to their NBL27 roster.

The Sydney Kings are nearing the completion of their Hungry Jack's NBL27 roster, after reportedly signing a big man from the NBA G League.

According to ESPN's Olgun Uluc, the reigning champions are finalising a deal with 6'11 American Andrew Carr.

The 24-year-old last played for the Portland Trailblazers' G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix, averaging 10.8 points (including 36.2 per cent from downtown) and 6.7 rebounds per game, across his 47 appearances.

Prior to his stint with the Remix, Carr played five years of college hoops, including two seasons at both Delaware and Wake Forest, before finishing at Kentucky.

In that final year with the Wildcats, Carr averaged 10.8 points, 5.4 boards and 1.4 assists per contest.

Carr is now the Harbour City side's third import, joining Championship Series MVP Kendric Davis and NBL26 champion Torrey Craig on the roster.

That trio will play alongside Xavier Cooks, Matthew Dellavedova, Jaylin Galloway, Keli Leaupepe, Makuach Maluach, Tyler Robertson, Jason Spurgin, Jayden Stone and Harry Wessels on Brian Goorjian's side.

The Kings open their NBL27 season against Cairns on Sunday September 20 at Afterpay Arena.
