36ers’ missing piece could be back Thursday

After 11 games on the sidelines, Flynn Cameron could return for Adelaide in a big Thursday night clash with Melbourne.

At six wins and six losses, the Adelaide 36ers aren’t where they want to be.
They lost just 10 games across the entire NBL26 regular season, and it’s fair to say they haven’t gone near those lofty standards so far in NBL27.
But help looks like it’s on the way.
A big home win over Illawarra was just what the 36ers needed to build their confidence, and now a key player could be back too: Flynn Cameron.
The New Zealand international hasn’t played since way back in Round 1, but could be a huge addition for Thursday night’s blockbuster against Melbourne.
“He’ll go through the checklist this week,” Adelaide coach Trevor Gleeson said following the win over the Hawks.
“We’re hopeful, but he’s certainly got to tick some boxes the medical staff [have] got. So until he does that, it’ll be same as normal.”
It’s not a confident response at this stage, but after 11 games on the sidelines, the 36ers will be hanging out for the return of their exciting young guard.
Cameron had easily the most productive season of his career in NBL26 after joining Adelaide from Melbourne, averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists a game and winning the League’s Most Improved Player Award.
In what looms as a potential turning point for the 36ers’ season at home on Thursday night, could Cameron be a game changer?
