Talking points
Hot or cold Phoenix
It’s been well documented all season that South East Melbourne live and die by the three, and the numbers back it up.
In their four wins this season, Josh King’s side has shot 38.5 per cent from downtown. In their losses, that figure plummets to just 26 per cent.
Rediscovering their range will be imperative on Sunday if the Phoenix are to trouble Sydney, who boast the equal-best defensive rating in the league (110.7).
Any rust?
After playing three games in six days on the road last week, the Kings have now had nine days off between matches.
That could cut both ways: they’ll be fresh, but they may also be a little rusty.
The only other time the reigning champions have had more than a week between games was when they hosted Adelaide, and on that occasion, the 36ers came away with the win.
The first five minutes at Afterpay Arena could be telling for the Kings.
