Talking points

Another Cotton masterclass incoming?
The Adelaide 36ers aren’t used to losing this season and after the two previous losses they suffered, it was Bryce Cotton who bounced back in a big way to get them a win.

The 36ers fell short to a strong Perth team on Sunday and now they head down to Tasmania to try and inflict more pain on the JackJumpers.

Tasmania has struggled to contain opposition superstars in recent weeks, which could have Cotton ready to put up big numbers.

"Defend the island"
Scott Roth and the JackJumpers mantra has been to “defend the island,” and make sure that when teams visit Tasmania, they run into a defensive juggernaut that refuses to quit.

Unfortunately, this team has lost four straight at home, with two of those being in Launceston and desperately need to get a win for their fans.

What they're saying

JackJumpers guard Ben Ayre on how his team plan to defend Bryce Cotton:
"Bryce is a very hard player to stop, so you just pick things to live with and make things really hard where you can and try to put a scheme together, like the coaches do, and follow that.

"If you let him go he might have 50 points.

"So the coaches will put a scheme together and as a playing group we’ve got to come out and try to execute that as best as possible."

36ers coach Mike Wells on playing against the JackJumpers in Tasmania:
“You just focus on the Sixers.

“We're focussed on the things that we can control or attempt to control - our ability to be ready, being familiar with their personnel and the things they do well.

“We know how hard it is to win on the road in this game. In this game, in this league, no matter what, you're always going to have a fight down there, right? That's just what happens.

“If they have a little more (fight), they have a little more, I can't really control that. I think it's a big game for both teams.”
